Lord Balaram

This is the appearance day of Lord Balaram, the elder brother of Lord Krishna. Lord Balaram is the first expansion of Lord Sri Krishna. He is the original spiritual master and devotees offer special prayers to Lord Balaram on this day to receive spiritual strength from Him. Lord Narasimha Dev

This is the appearance day of Lord Narasimha Dev the half man half lion incarnation of Lord Krishna. The Lord appeared in this wonderful form in order to protect his five-year old devotee Prahalada, from the atrocities of his demonic father Hiranyakashipu.

Panihati Chida-dahi

Raghunatha Dasa Goswami, following the order of Nityananda Prabhu, observed a festival in Panihati village, by distributing chipped rice mixed with yogurt. This came to be known as Panihati Chida-dahi festival.

At ISKCON Sri Jagannath Mandir,Bangalore, the utsava deities of Sri Nitai Gauranga are bathed in holy cavery riveras part of the abhisheka during the festival.

Devotees also enact the story of Raghunatha Dasa’s surrender to Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and the original festival at Panihati.

Gaura Poornima

Gaura Poornima is the appearance day of Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Gaura Poornima is the full moon day of the month of Phalguna. Lord Chaitanya, who was born 520 years ago in West Bengal, India to Jagannatha Mishra and Srimati Sachidevi, and propagated the chanting of the names of God, is the Supreme Personality of Godhead.

Govardhan hill

The Govardhan hill is worshipped on this day to commemorate the pastime of the Lord lifting the Govardhan hill on His little finger, in order to protect the residents of Vrindavan from torrential rains sent by Indra. The Supreme Personality of Godhead performed this pastime as a seven year old boy in order to crush the pride of Indra, the Lord of the heavens. Krishna Janmashtami

Krishna Janmashtami celebrates the appearance day of Lord Krishna in Mathura. At ISKCON Sri Jagannath Mandir,Bangalore. the temple witnesses huge crowds till midnight. An elaborate abhishekam or the bathing ceremony of the Lord is the special feature of this festival. The deities are bathed with auspicious items like milk, honey, curds and fruit juices. They are then showered with colourful flowers. This is followed by a grand Arati at 12 midnight. Janmashtami falls on the 8th day of the dark half of the month of Bhadra.

Vaikunta Ekadashi

A major festival of south India. The Vaikunta Dwara is opened in the temple on this day. Thousands of devotees pass through this gate on this day to get special mercy of Lord Srinivasa Govinda. Lord Srinivasa Govinda receives a gorgeous bathing ceremony and special alankara or decoration this day with sparkling jewels.

Vyasa puja

Vyasadeva is the original spiritual master. Therefore the birthday of guru is called Vyasa puja. Because guru is the representative of Vyasadeva. Vyasa Puja is celebrated on Srila Prabhupada’s Appearance day. On his birthday a special ceremony is offered as Vyasa puja. Devotees offer thousands of food preparations and several readings to Srila Prabhupada on this day.

On this day devotees gather in the main temple hall in the evening to remember the activities, teachings and the devotional qualities of the great soul who spread the message of Krishna all over the world.

Hundreds of devotees will take part in cooking nearly 3000 varieties of dishes for the most elaborate feast offered to Krishna in the year.

Rath Yatra

The chariot festival of Jagannatha Puri is celebrated at ISKCON Sri Jagannath Mandir,Bangalore. with great show. Sri Sri Jagannath,Baladev and subhdra Deities of the temple come out of the temple and ride on their chariot to bless devotees with their auspicious Darshan. Thousands of devotees pull the chariot, offer their prayers and join in the Kirtana, all along the route of the ratha yatra.

Radhaashtami

The auspicious appearance day of Srimati Radha Rani. This festival falls on the eighth day, of the bright fortnight in the month of Bhadra (August-September), 15 days after the appearance of Lord Krishna. A spectacular abhishekam or bathing ceremony of the Srimati Radharani and Lord Krishna is performed with auspicious items like honey, milk, fruit juices, turmeric water etc.
